T-Bolt Hose Clamps Compared to Worm-Drive Hose Clamps
Hose clamps are a useful tool for tightening hoses to prevent leaks and other issues. However, there are several different types of hose clamps to choose from. In this video, you will learn the difference between T-Bolt and Worm-Drive hose clamps. If you need something for your stainless hose clamp projects, look no further.
Worm-Drive hose clamps are the more typical clamp that you find at the store. They are so cheap that you could get each for less than a dollar.
On the other hand, T-Bolts are a little more rare and will cost you about three dollars per clamp. Are the T-Bolts worth the extra money?
In short, T-Bolts are indeed worth the extra money. They can put much more torque on the hose for a better seal. This is especially crucial if there is a lot of pressure going through the pipe as is often the case with automotive projects. Yet, the T-Bolt still doesn’t damage the hose even with all the extra pressure. On the other hand, Worm-Drive clamps apply uneven pressure and may damage the hose. The only time you would really want to use a Worm-Drive clamp is when you are working in a super small space where it is your only option. If this is the case, consider using two Worm-Drive clamps instead.
